About the service and what to expect
We specialise in working with clients who find it difficult to access mainstream advice services, and seek to deliver our services in a way that is accessible to anyone needing them. We can see people by appointment at our offices, give advice over the phone or by email, and offer home visits if needed. We know that seeking advice can feel difficult and we are flexible and take time to establish good working relationships with our clients. We have expertise and many years of experience in working with people with mental illness, dementia, fluctuating mental capacity, personality disorder, learning disabilities, sensory loss, substance misuse, physical disabilities, as well as with refugees and asylum seekers.
Many of the people we help are in financial distress with debts that has built up over time to become unmanageable. Our advisers provide expert help, dealing with immediate problems as well as offering longer-term support to help people manage their money, draw up a realistic and sustainable budget, and deal with their debts.
Welfare Benefits advice
We will check that a person is receiving the correct benefits, advise and assist with new claims and help with appeals, including representation at tribunals as needed.
